Using 'DB_SLAVE' generates an unbound identifier error with MediaWiki 1.34, which I was able to fix by replacing it with DB_REPLICA.
I haven't gone all that deep into why this is the case, other than a couple of web searches to determine that DB_REPLICA was the correct variable to replace it with. Fix has been very lightly tested on my own MediaWiki install.
