Shoes is a GUI language, not a test language. While it has loads of useful APIs, it's not necessarily designed for full-on testing.
That means Shoes-Spec needs functionality that Shoes Classic didn't have. For instance, a button test should be able to artificially trigger a button being clicked, which includes both looking it up and doing the click. It also needs to be able to read various display properties of the button, quite likely more than would be available to an old-school Shoes application.
I'm realising it's silly to have two different Wikis at our current level of participation. So I've moved ShoesSpec wiki notes elsewhere.
