01 Monitor an Environment

This page details how to monitor a Rancher environment using Weavescope.
Monitoring is essential for keeping your environment and its hosts in good shape.
More information can be found here.
- Go to Rancher UI
- Click "Add from Catalog" button
- Filter catalog items by "weavescope"
- Click the "View Details" button
- Leave fields with default values and click "Launch" button
- Wait for all WeaveScope services to start, then click the "4040" link from Ports field
- See WeaveScope in action
- Organize WeaveScope data by Containers displayed as table
- Click the containers running DokuWiki
- Click the "Exec shell" link
- Inside the console, type "top" command and take a peek inside this container processes
- Close the console when you're done
- Organize WeaveScope data by Hosts displayed as table
- Click the row displaying ra2 host to open an overview of this host
