This is a derivate of fauxmo to emulate a device called "My car" on you local network. This deivce can then be discoverd/controlled by an amazon echo.
Run device.py from comand line, to emulate the device:My Car on the network. Once the process is running run the connected home discovery service from the Amazon alexa app. You device "My Car" will now show up in the list of connected home devices. You can say things like "Alexa turn on my car" , triggering the IOs to toggle and car start. Instructions on how to wire up the remote can be found at , you might want to add this to you rc.local file if you want this to start on boot.
