This repository contains the dockerfile and scripts needed for the CAE docker image.
The following ports are EXPOSEd:
- 1234 - y-js websocket server
- 3000 - Dashboard
- 8001 - CAE Frontend
- 8073 - ROLE
- 8080 - webconnector for the CAE
- 8081 - Syncmeta Widgets
Bind these ports as you wish or use automatic binding.
Checkout the repository, change your directory into it and build it just like you would build any other docker image.
docker build -t cae .
To specify the port bindings yourself, use the -p flag, in this example we map container ports to their host counterpart:
docker run -d -p 1234:1234 -p 8073:8073 -p 8080:8080 -p 3000:3000 -p 8081:8081 -p 8001:8001 --name cae cae
This will run the container detached. To run the image in a container that will delete itself after running for easy experimentation without cleanup and to automatically open a command prompt in it use:
docker run -it --rm 1234:1234 -p 8073:8073 -p 8080:8080 -p 3000:3000 -p 8081:8081 -p 8001:8001 --name cae cae
You can also just run the "runImageStandardConf.sh" script, that will just execute the command above.
To run the image detached without specifying port bindings yourself use
docker run -d -P --name cae cae
You can now see what ports were assigned to the one's listed as exposed in the dockerfile by running
docker port cae
(Note: This doesn't seem to work with ROLE at the moment. Specifying the port bindings yourself is recommended)
There is a dashboard service running on port 3000 that provides status information on the other services and provides a way to upload property files for them. Please give the container some time to start all services, especially it can take a minute until the internal ROLE is ready.
The dashboard provides information on the status of the CAE's services and offers a comfortable way of changing settings. It can also be used to generate the ROLE spaces for the CAE automatically. To do so, open any ROLE page and sign in. Afterwards, refresh the dashboard and your authentication token for ROLE will be available. Now, just click "Generate ROLE Setup" and all spaces will be constructed. You can then use the buttons under the status area to open them in a new tab.
