Architecture overview

Most of the RubyGems.org architecture is running on Kubernetes. We have one Kubernetes cluster which runs both staging and production. We still have legacy load balancers running on VMs that provide an extra layer of caching. (These will be phased out soon.)

Internet -> Fastly -> LB VM -> ELB -> K8s Service -> K8s pods running Rails
