Streaming Wallpaper

Lively can play video streams as wallpaper.

Not working?

1. Update the youtube-dl binary.

Updating youtube-dlp

1. Download the latest version of yt-dlp software.
2. Close any running video wallpapers.
3. Navigate to Lively install location.

• For non-admin install:

  C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Programs\Lively Wallpaper\

• For admin install:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Lively Wallpaper\

4. Goto \plugins\mpv\ folder, rename yt-dlp.exe to youtube-dl.exe and copy the file to this location.
5. Make sure "Detect Streams" is checked in Lively Settings -> Wallpaper > Stream
6. Simply drag and drop the video website address into lively window to set as wallpaper.

• If you did the above steps correctly, after restarting the application stream quality settings should be visible:

  Lively Settings -> Wallpaper > Stream -> Video Quality.

Note

This is mainly intended for live streams and will consume internet data.
