How it works

With the initials, the user account is not really visible and recognisable, especially for older user not experienced on the web.

Improvement suggestion

The user account could be displayed with the first name (or the first word of the first name, or first word of the last name if there is no first name), so that it stays short. It could be highlighted by a darker grey or even a colored background.
Example (based on Explore):

Alternative: display first name and last name, and truncate them if too long
To discuss: keep the initials in the professional view, as it saves some space in the menu bar?
