Hahaha. Yeah, probably not. :) Creating the functions is easy, but then I have to be extra careful when writing their docs, online code snippets would fail or not depending on the current set of platforms, etc.

I think the $ solution is better, that is somewhere in between. Almost as easy to write, it can be smart, eg. suggest sg else if platform is not available and interactive(), etc.

Plus we can have check_win, check_debian, a couple of others.
