I've noticed a number of times recently that EndPoint IDs which have got BCs properly assigned, and which are visible in a participant lookup, cannot be found in the main PD search page.
Manual triggering of the index fixes the issue instantly, so maybe we need a button on the PD homepage to be able to refresh the index?
