Currently the
changed_fieldsmethod makes a DB query in order to get the former state of an object so it's possible to determine which fields have changed.In preparation to making NetBox DNS compatible with NetBox branching, this kind of request has to be avoided wherever possible. This is true for the described use case, and the solution even provides an improved interface for accessing the former content of object attributes.
