* libudev-devel is now part of systemd-devel * zlib-devel is now zlib-ng-compat-devel * other dependencies like elfutils-libelf-devel are auto-installed
* RHEL 7 uses yum but is end of life (2024-06-30) * RHEL 8/9 uses dnf instead of yum and localinstall is just an alias for install. Yum/dnf accepts local files and package names with install since RHEL 6, localinstall is deprecated and removed in Fedora. * use uname -m (uname -p returns unknown instead of e.g. x86_64)

Thanks for the doc updates, this looks fine. Let's not merge it until zfs-2.2.7 comes out first though (openzfs/zfs#16781) - that will be the first release that supports Fedora 41.

I've installed Fedora 41 Workstation in a virtual machine and checked which rpm packages are required to successfully build zfs (2.2.6.tar.gz and git 2.3.99). I've also added a paragraph about UEFI/secure boot which is common with Fedora. Just ignore the commit if you don't want that published.
