Projects create a new branch when they need to start working on 2 separate versions of the product, with the `main` branch being the furthermost release. | ||

Out of curiousity, are all of these branching sections necessary, given that this is not a plugin or OpenSearch?

The maps repository contains resources on maps server side, it's the branch strategy template, I think we can update the releasing strategy here based on maps repo demand at some point.
