Hi @thomasarsouze and thanks for your submission. Unfortunately our editors are all fully loaded at the moment so I will add this to the waitlist. In the meantime please check out the list of reviewers above and suggest 5 reviewers to help the future editor get started. Also check out the DOI notes above. Thanks for your patience! |

@kthyng @thomasarsouze I am taking 3weeks off starting from 20 August so that might be a bit slow (and mountain biking in the middle of nowhere so no computer...), but I'll hope to find reviewers before I leave. But be aware that this might be a bit slower than "normal". |
Hi @hugoledoux, Thanks for accepting handling our manuscript. I'm not sure where we are supposed to suggest reviewers. I check the list of reviewers. I don't know any of them, but based on the short description, Evaristo Rojas-Mayoral, Matt Higham, yongzesong, molgor, or Hamza Ahsan could do the job. Outside this list Aaron Hogan ([email protected]), Bob Muscarella ([email protected]) that both have GitHub profiles would be also good reviewers as they are users of such software. Best wishes, Thomas |
I checked out and fixed the DOI notes. Best wishes, Thomas |
@thomasarsouze while I am looking for reviewers, I noticed that 4 people contributed to the code on github, but there are 6 authors... JOSS deals with this differently from "traditional" journals, we don't consider the person funding the project as possible authors. See our rules there: https://joss.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submitting.html?highlight=authorship#authorship Of course maybe those people contributed, but if you could write here what they did that would help us move further. |
@hugoledoux Swen Jullien and Christophe Menkes (listed here : https://umr-amap.github.io/StormR/) are two climatologists working on tropical cyclones. They participated to regular meeting regarding the development of the package, helped with cyclone models selection, and with the writing of the documentation. They didn't work on the project with GitHub that why they are not in the contributor list but their contribution was essential. |
okay, that's fine. Thanks for the prompt and clear answer! |
