Description

CentOS 7 image is gone from GCE as of June 30, 2024 (see https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/eol/centos-eol-guidance). This is probably the oldest distro we're using for CI, might make sense to replace it with something.

Related: #4302.

BTW neither Almalinux nor Rocky Linux have a clone of RHEL 6. There are a couple of supported versions -- one is RHEL, another is CIQ bridge, they both require some sort of licensing which sounds complicated.

Oracle has the R6 still available. ISOs, YUM repos, OCI images
