Describe the bug
Upon opening a clean install on version 4.0.8-beta, I get the following error, which makes the app unusable: "App was denied access to be default SMS app"

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install QUIK-v4.0.8-noAnalytics-release.apk beta
  2. Open the installed app
  3. The following screen is shown

Expected behavior
The app to get the necessary permissions to open properly.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: [e.g. Pixel 7 Pro]
  • OS: [e.g. Android 15, GrapheneOS release 2024110400]
  • App Version [e.g. 4.0.8-beta]

Additional context
It was working properly until a few days ago I had this issue #177, then proceeded to wait a few days until a fix came out, uninstalled the faulty app version and now I always have this error when installing the app and opening it.

if you go into the app info and look at the permissions it has/wants, what does it show?

@quamok What does the link entitled "Learn how to allow access" show? A help page?
