Doesn't work on big sur

Hi, I use mac mouse fix since the beginning. but I don't know why after upgrading to big sur it doesn't work correctly.

I mean it was successfully installed but when I click to enable it doesn't work and it doesn't produce any error message.

Does anyone experience the same things?

I don't know what step I miss, but it works right now. A few things I did:

• I make sure that it's enabled on privacy

• I moved the extracted file to applications

• I tried to reinstall the app

If I can give advice, maybe we can have an installation process where tells the user to move the Mac Mouse Fix to applications then a dialog to let the user move the installation file to the trash.

Anyway, Thank you for making this the most useful apps, It's really amazing! Good job! Well done!

Hey @rririanto thanks for your contribution and for your nice words!
macOS has some security features that make apps run in a sort of Quarantine when you run them without moving them our of the Downloads folder first (It's called "App Translocation").
I think your issues might have something to do with that, but I'm not sure.

It would definitely be really nice, if Mac Mouse Fix could detect App Translocation and warn the user, or even move itself to the Applications folder or something similar. I'll put that on the agenda for the future. Thanks for your input!

Edit: The later 2.0.0 Betas do automatically untranslocate themselves! So this shouldn’t be an issue anymore

Aha! I just know about the app "App Translocation". I tried to reinstall again and tried without move to the Applications folder and you are right it does not work. Then I tried again to clean the installations and moved the app to applications and it works perfectly. Thank you again for your help!

FYI: Anybody seeing this screen when trying to run the app (e.g. because Safari auto-unzips the file):

You need to go into the General tab in the Security & Privacy settings and open the app from there:

I believe that generally this behavior is expected for anything downloaded from the web and not from the actual App Store. The method you showed is one way to handle it. Another might be to right-click (or ctrl+click) and select Open, then on the corresponding pop up you click Open. This is what I had to do. Also, you may not have that option (I'm not sure) until you go to your system Preferences > Security & Privacy > Allow apps downloaded from: > App Store and identified developers.

Thanks, for the addition, @Cramertech. Yeah, the setting for App Store and identified developers is crucial and I should have mentioned it. :)

However, I was stumped this time, because I was unable to get the same Open dialogue as you showed via CMD+Click » Open. This used to work before like a charm, but for some reason, it's not an option for me anymore. Not sure if that's Big Sur, or the M1, or something else. The only place I found the ability to enable this, was in the General tab for Security & Privacy 🤷

Hey guys! Marking this as an answer. As far as I can tell, the underlying problem of the original poster was the App Translocation stuff, not this. But that has been resolved in a later Mac Mouse Fix 2 Beta.

On the other hand, the problem that @njyo's answer solves is one that people may still run into, so I'm marking it as an answer for visibility. And also so that all the resolved discussions have an answer which helps me keep an overview.

I faced the same issues. The last time I updated the OS version is a week ago. But the popup showed up today. And If I click cancel the dialog will always appear to ask me to move it to trash. If I click to move to trash the application will be removed and I no longer can use it.

Direct to paypal account should work i think, unless paypal is just in the middle to process the transactions. I'll be happy to send via that way if you have a paypal account. I' m sure there are others who are unable to do so as well. :)
