Custom Query (e.g. with child link relations) not working for WIQLQueryBit

We like to migrate the fllowing work items

SELECT
    [System.Id],
    [System.WorkItemType],
    [System.Title],
    [System.AssignedTo],
    [System.State],
    [System.Tags]
FROM workitemLinks
WHERE
    (
        [Source].[System.TeamProject] = @project
        AND [Source].[System.WorkItemType] = 'Bug'
        AND [Source].[System.State] <> 'Done'
        AND [Source].[System.State] <> 'Removed'
    )
    AND (
        [Target].[System.TeamProject] = @project
        AND [Target].[System.WorkItemType] = 'Test Case'
    )
ORDER BY [System.Id]
MODE (MustContain)

But there's actually no way using this query via WIQLQueryBit.

Idea: Maybe a better or optional solution would be to provide a Shared Query name defined in the source project as a source of Work Items that should be migrated...

Or is there currently a solution for more complex queries that we haven't found?

By the way, a workaround for us is tagging the source work items (by the mentioned query) with a migration tag. On the WIQLQueryBit we're using the migration tag as a filter.

Correct, it needs to be a flat query, but tagging is a good work around.
