,please do the following to keep our gems healthy and up to date:

Review the following gems: rack, redis, sidekiq, excon and discover the following:

1. Understand if methods were deprecated by gem owners.
2. Find new methods that are of value
3. Instrument those new methods
4. Update our multiverse to dynamically pull the latest version so that we do not have to manually update each gem version numbers manually.
