I'm on the record as not liking Donald Trump: dwyl/learn-react#23 (comment) and dwyl/phase-three#21
and wouldn't let my children near him because he is clearly not good person:

To be 100% clear: I don't think he should be president of the USA because he sends totally the wrong message

I think it says a lot about both the American people (passionately voting for him while ignoring the past)
and the system that he's allowed to run for office given the allegations of sexual assault. 💭 🙅‍♀️
But apparently both the people and Republican Party have a short memory for the negative aspects of Trump's past.

With all this said, I think Donald Trump and JD Vance are a better choice than Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
For the following reasons:

1. Kamala has flip-flopped on many key political issues depending on what her campaign team think will get the most votes: https://eu.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2024/09/22/harris-lies-trump-abortion-project-2025/75289384007/ she cannot be trusted to lead the country.
2. She does not answer questions and instead gives "word salad": youtube.com/kamala+word+salad

   I don't feel like I can trust him even though he seems perfectly "nice" on the surface. 💭

Neither of the Democratic candidates seem competent so I don't think I would vote for them. 🫤
Even though on a matter of policy I often prefer the Democratic Party, e.g:

1. Men (male lawmakers) should not have any decision-making power on ladies reproductive health. (obvs!)
2. Second amendment ... I think there should be mandatory background checks and controls for obtaining weapons the way we have in Portugal which results in way less gun violence & zero mass shootings.

I find myself agreeing more with the Republicans this time:

1. First amendment. (not being censored by thought police)
2. Freedom of thought; not being forced to buy, do or think anything to conform to an ideology.

Trump being anti-climate change science is a fail 🙄 🤦‍♂️ he is clearly funded by fossil fuels.
But as I've said before, I no longer fear climate change: #142
I am deeply concerned for the economic and social turmoil that will inevitably ensue when fossil fuels end and we can no longer produce or transport the food to feed the planet! 🥦 🤷‍♀️
The end of fossil fuels is inevitable in our lifetimes or those of our children. ⛽ 📉 🚫
whether you "believe" in climate change or not, burning fossil fuels will come to an end and (well-documented) global temperature rise will plateau because there won't be anymore easy carbon to burn!

Glad I don't have to vote. 😬

Whereas Trump has said he would end the war as a high priority if elected.

Note: definitely not saying Ukraine should roll-over and forfeit their sovereign land to Russia!!
But the war has already claimed the lives of too many innocent people and should be ended ASAP!
Biden (and Harris) have no plan to help Zelenskyy reach an agreement with Putin and end the bloodshed.
So it could be a "forever war" that destroys a generation in both countries! 😢 #852
