I tried to open the Control Center using the following command "iris -k" and it seems to be stuck at this step:

Preparing data for Control Center.
This may take a minute.
Gathering test info for 'firefox'...

I waited more then 20 minutes and it was still stuck. I tried to abort using ctrl+C keyboard command and then it started to go further in a few seconds and the Control Center had opened.

Loading test images...
Gathering test info for 'sample'...
Serving HTTP on 127.0.0.1 port 2000.

This happens only at the first start, after I start the PC. In a single session this will only happen the first time, I could open the Control Center over and over again in seconds after I did that first start.

Going to look into this as a possible solution.

Lots of file read/writes are slow on Windows. I've had some luck speeding things up in non-Iris Mozilla stuff (interacting with mozilla-central repository directly via mercurial) if I add the source directory to Windows Defender's Exclusions list.
