  • 👋 Hi, I’m @monika-pietrosian.

Picture a role that's part coder, part detective, part (aspiring) diplomat. That's where I'm the best.

Since 2011, when I led my first serious-ish project I've lived the full project lifecycle. I've felt the late-night crunch and the pressure of presenting on high-stakes meetings with various companies boards. Each project I led or participated in, big or small, has shaped me, teaching lessons I couln't just find in books.

Another thing that defines me: my love-hate relationship with the art world. I've got a foot in a few creative realms - I sing, I illustrate, I'm drawn to good concepts. Yet my relationship with art is far from simple. I'm captivated by its conceptual power, the emotions it can convey, the way it can shape how we see the world. But I also find myself rolling my eyes at the art world's status games and pretensions. The biggest one is about reserving art "artificially" for the so called "art" world. I believe any true master of their craft is an artist, be it programmer, farmer or lawyer.

Currently studying: Josh Waitzkin - Art of Learning
