Custom Column Header Editor Testing

How to test a Custom Column with Header editor

Step 1

Put a single email in a mail folder, with a custom column filled with a value.

To put a value in the custom column, use the CW editor.

Step 2

Close Thunderbird and open the filesystem directory in which is stored the mailbox folder.

Step 3

Open the mailbox file with a text editor, and search (NOT case sensitive) for the header string. In this example it's "test57".

Step 4

Modify the header value or the header tag as you wish (in this example the tag has been written with some capitol letters)

Step 5

Force Thunderbird to rebuild the index, deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file in your Thunderbird Profile filesystem directory.

Step 6

Open Thunderbird and check che custom column for your message.
