Keyboard shotcut to insert date and time in any text field

Description of the new feature / enhancement

It is often necessary to insert the current date and/or time into emails, documents, file names, source code, and all sorts of other places.

A customizable keyboard shortcut to insert the current date, and the current time, would be really useful. Ideally the format would be configurable, or at least use the user's current locale settings.

Scenario when this would be used?

Entering text into documents, file names, commands, and more.

This feature does not address the suggestion from #28043
There is no way to add the current date on any field.
