Getting Started

This addon requires a native client application to be installed. The native client is responsible for managing communication between youtube-dl and the browser. After you install the native client, be sure to configure the path to youtube-dl in the addon options.

Popup Guide

  1. Grab Buttons: The first button sends the URL to youtube-dl. The second does the same, but overrides the format to "bestaudio" to easily download music.

  2. Save In: The location in which the video is saved. Uses the default value from the addon options when empty. Value is saved per-domain.

  3. Job List: The list of jobs sent to youtube-dl. The latest line of output from youtube-dl is displayed. Click the eye icon to view the complete output.

  4. Self-update: Asks youtube-dl.exe to perform a self-update to the latest version.

  5. Clear Job List: Removes all completed jobs from the job list.

  1. Format Selection: The video format to download. Uses the default value from the addon options when empty. Value is saved per-domain.

  2. Output Template: The template for the filename of the saved video. Uses the default value from the addon options when empty. Value is saved per-domain.
