The other day I was talking with my mom 👩, encouraging her to learn how to code 💻 because of the endless amount of possibilities it opens up. Her response:

“..but Madi, I don’t want to be a software developer sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day!"

..Neither do I! The knowledge of Computer Science ⌨️ is one of the best tools 🔧in my toolbox. With it, I'm able to create the world 🌏 I’ve always imagined with my own two hands 🙌!! (HOW AWESOME?) That's what I want for you: For you to have the power to create your own world through code and with the lessons you'll learn along the way.

"So Madi, what are we actually doing here?"

Great question!! 👍 Technology is always changing, which means you have to continue learning 📚if you want to stay relevant. Just like an artist needs to continue making hits 🎤to stay at the top of the charts 👩‍🎤, a developer needs to always be expanding their knowledge to continue being a valuable contributor.

As a technologist, you're a student for life 📖. Because you're a part of this Beta Team, you've already shown your passion 🔥 for learning and growing inside and out of technology. It is my intention that everything you will learn in this class will provide you value. Whether you're learning what a specific <html> tag means or you learn how to navigate a new adventure 🗺, you'll grow here (and I'm beyond excited to do it all together!!).

"How do we start?!"

In this first class, we'll learn something you'll find useful regardless of any industry, profession or passion you may have.❤️

We’ll be learning how to build a personal portfolio website 🖥. It is more than just coding a website, or copying content into a form, it’s having complete control over what is displayed and knowing exactly what content to put out. This is how the technology of coding and personal coaching will go hand in hand 🤝. We'll learn how to format your webpage to best present your personal brand, but also develop the content on that page that best describes all that you're about.

Excited?! Well, let's get started!!!!! ⭐️
