Although UDPRoute was created prior to GEPs, we are retroactively creating this issue to track the status of this resource.

The Kubernetes project currently lacks enough contributors to adequately respond to all issues.

This bot triages un-triaged issues according to the following rules:

  • After 90d of inactivity, lifecycle/stale is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/stale was applied, lifecycle/rotten is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/rotten was applied, the issue is closed

You can:

  • Mark this issue as fresh with /remove-lifecycle stale
  • Close this issue with /close
  • Offer to help out with Issue Triage

Please send feedback to sig-contributor-experience at kubernetes/community.

As discussed multiple times this year, we're going to unfreeze this and consider it stale. The context: While there has been some general interest in TCPRoute and UDPRoute over the years, there hasn't been any contributors who've been able to push it forward in terms of conformance.

What this means:

  • we may close this soon as "not planned" to better reflect its true state
  • we may not accept any updates to the API that aren't accompanied with a more holistic plan forward
  • if you are interested in driving this effort, now is the time to step forward and make the commitment

What this DOES NOT mean:

  • We will not be removing the API, it will simply stay in v1alpha1 and will not be considered supported (for the foreseeable future)

If you have questions or concerns about this, we would love to hear from you at one of our weekly Gateway API syncs, please do join us and let us know your thoughts!
