Overview

Welcome to the Currency Converter Chrome Extension! This extension seamlessly converts prices displayed on websites into your native currency, supporting a comprehensive list of 161 currencies.

Why I Developed This Extension

As a developer, I frequently encountered prices in USD for various tools and services needed during the development process. Manually converting these prices to my native currency was tedious, so I created this extension to automate the process and save time.

Warning / Pre-Installation Advisory

Note: Since this extension is currently in the "Load Unpacked" stage and not published on the Chrome Web Store, you might encounter some issues after installation:

• The extension may slow down your browser.
• The browser may start to malfunction or not function properly.

These issues occur because the extension is not optimized in the unpacked stage. When an extension is published, it goes through a review process and optimization which helps in enhancing performance and stability.

If you experience any of these issues, you can simply remove or unload the extension to restore normal browser functionality.

Installation

1. Download the Extension: Link
2. Open Chrome Extensions Page:
   • Type chrome://extensions/ in your Chrome browser's address bar and press Enter.
3. Enable Developer Mode:
   • Toggle the "Developer mode" switch at the top right of the page.
4. Load Unpacked Extension:
   • Click the "Load unpacked" button and select the folder containing your downloaded extension files.
5. Activate the Extension:
   • Ensure the extension is activated in your extensions list.

Usage

1. Set Your Native Currency:
   • Click on the extension icon in the toolbar.
   • Select the source currency and your native currency from the dropdown menu.
2. Automatic Conversion:
   • Browse websites as usual. Prices will automatically be converted to your native currency.
