Using the webbrowser module would works on MacOS as well. We could also use specific portions such running the MacOS script etc. @tito: Could you share what you were suggesting? |

It works by doing the standard abuse of
mailto:and the webbrowser module, but there doesn't seem to be a very good general way to do it on desktop.The implementation should also work on windows or osx, but I can't test them so I didn't put it in.
