March 11th 2018 Week in Review
This is a first of our series of posts that will happen weekly or bi-weekly. It will start with a basic format and grow from there. So if your new and just following then hopefully some of the information included can help you get caught up to where the community is tracking today.
If your looking to kick the tires and try things out with the current code base you can get it integrated and running with OpenStack Zun which is the OpenStack Container Service. Read through the public post to get this working with DevStack today here.
- It's happened the initial import of virtcontainers to Kata Containers runtime. It is a Go library designed to manage hardware virtualized pods and containers. It is the core Clear Containers framework and will become the core Kata Containers framework today. Efforts ongoing cleaning things up.
- After the import the initial runtime CLI implementation was added.
- Early start to the kata API is ongoing and has been extended to include K8s pods, Storage, Network, plugins, VM templates, and proxy.
- With the initial import of virtcontainers runtime into Kata Containers runtime we now have the beginnings of a plugin for hypervisor which will add the ability to communicate with qemu initially.
We would love to see you get involved. Come and speak to us. We have several ways that you can connect to us from IRC, Slack, mailing list, etc. the links to each are below.
