Heat-Only central mode for VTherm to hvac_mode heat #892
-
Hi, I'm currently using VTherm 7.2.0 with HA 2025.2.1 and I noticed that VTherm services that I have manually switched to Off restart in Heating state after a HA restart. I feel it annoying because it corresponds to temperature control of unoccupied room(s) for extensive duration, which I switch Off and forget until occupant(s) return. And, obviously, I forget to review their control state each time HA is restarted (My bad...) Eventually, I've noticed that they restart in Heating state. Oddly enough, it seems that the heating preset is preserved after restart so my curent workaround is to select the 'Away' preset to minimize the effect of such unexpected reactivation of Heating. How I reproduce the problem:
To be complete and in case this would have side effects I've overlooked, be aware that I also use the simple thermostat lovelace card to control and check things in a room dedicated view. Here is what it looks like: Would you say that there is something I'm doing wrong? Would you say, as I tend to believe, that this would worth to be addressed? So far, I don't know if it is VTerm related or deeper linked to the climate entity itself. Let me know your feeling and I'd be glad to help if further action is needed. Until then...

Hello @aauzi Thank you for detailed issue description. It seems the off state is succesfuly restored in logs:
and you are right the central mode is changed and set all VTherm to heat_only.
Is there any special case for you to use the Central mode Heat only ? It means that all Vtherm should be in heating mode and I guess that is why you have experienced this issue. Can you try something ? Set the central mode to Auto which is "normal", and try to reproduce. I pretty sure it will work as expected (this is mode that everybody uses). |
