Dach-support

This is the code for a Discord / Steem Bot, making it possible for a community to control a voting bot in Steem using Discord. In the end this shall provide this service to the german community, currently organized within the D-A-CH Discord Server.

The pure Discord side of the bot is finished, now I will start integrating the Steem parts. Connection to steem blockchain has been established and display of account values is ready.

Setup Instructions

You have to have Python 3.6 installed on your computer, as well as discord and steempy. This is done quite easy using pip3 install -U steempy and pip3 install -U discord

Installing steempy sometimes poses a problem because of the toml package that is expected in version 0.9.3.1 but has 0.9.3, this can be changed in /usr/local/lib/python3.6/dist-packages/steem-0.18.3...../METADATA. Search the respective line and change the value to 0.9.3

Additionally you need to set a node with the steempy utility by executing for instance

steempy set nodes https://gtg.steem.house:8090/ or use https://rpc.buildteam.io for instance.

To use the manuel vote function implemented within the bot you have to also setup the account to use for this.

This can be done by uttering the following command

steempy importaccount "youraccount"

A good Tutorial for the first steps to setup Steempy can be found here

Furthermore you got to go to the last line of code in the bot and edit the line "your token here" to match the token you have created for your own bot in discord.

Languages

Iam sorry that this bot is currently using German as an output language, but since it is programmed for the german steem community on discord I think this is understandable.
