How do I disable color and icons for buffers?

I'm attempting to disable the icons and colour for the buffer using this ^^^, but it doesn't appear to work. It works for both files and grep.

These are the colors of the brackets and buffer numbers, take a look at the highlights section in the README and unlink/clear the appropriate highlights, e.g. hi! clear FzfLuaBufNr.
