Is the pattern of PR #1 something I should follow? Or should I be creating DAGs like Matt? (For now, I'll stay in the same path, but it would be good to understand when a different approach is appropriate.) If not "best practices", what "good enough practices" would you like contributors to follow?

For now, I think the deliverable is to fill in the ellipsis in the README, but find whatever documentation style works best for you.
