10 seconds in way too long. With the select() improvement, I'm happy to reduce this to 1 seonds, but not 10. |

This reduces the system load but increases the time it takes to sync the volume from the DSP to Alsa. I assume that syncing from Alsa to DSP is the normal case, which is still faster due to using select.
