I've tried everything to get this to work but it keeps drawing the same error. I went and made sure to unblock all the dll files and still nothing.

Download the x86 version and try it.

I had this same error and tried the x86 verson. That seemed to allow the plugin to load/initialize, but I then would get FileNotFound Exceptions where it was looking for the RainbowMage.OverlayPlugin.config.xml file in my roaming act/config folder. I tried to add a blank xml file and then tried to add some of the same structure that the ff14 plugin had in its config file but that still did not work.

Ultimately I was able to get it to work by going back to the x64 release and putting the files in the program files ACT folder instead of in roaming.

  • C:...\Advanced Combat Tracker\
  • Advanced Combat Tracker.exe
  • FFXIV_ACT_Plugin.dll
  • OverlayPlugin\
    • OverlayPlugin.dll
    • OverlayPlugin.Common.dll
    • OverlayPlugin.Core.dll
    • etc etc OverlayPlugin files
    • addons\
      • CactbotOverlay.dll
    • cactbot\
      • ui\
      • resources\
      • user\

was the end result of the folder structure (nabbed from cactbot install guide)

With this setup it created the config file that it was complaining about with the x86 version.

This didn't fix the error for me. I have made sure that all dll files are unblocked, and have tried the latest x64 and x86 in multiple locations (including the ACT folder, The AppData/ACT folder and a seperate folder on my drive [outside program files]) and I keep getting this error.
Is there anything I am missing.

Edit: I got it to work, but I dont know why it finally worked.
