Pre-work Checklist: Developer: Robenus Waktole #3190
Comments
Hi @RobenusW. Please don't forget to add the proper labels to this issue. Currently, the labels for the following are missing: NOTE: Please ignore the adding proper labels comment if you do not have 'write' access to this directory. To add a label, take a look at Github's documentation here. Also, don't forget to remove the "missing labels" afterwards. After the proper labels are added, the merge team will review the issue and add a "Ready for Milestone" label once it is ready for prioritization. Additional Resources: |
For one part of the issue, https://github.com/hackforla/website/blob/gh-pages/CONTRIBUTING.md#part-1-setting-up-the-development-environment, I have to download Git and Docker (1.2 and 1.5). I am using a school-issued Chromebook, so I am unable to download a lot of programs. Is there a work around this, because a lot of the rest of the parts of the onboarding is dependent on these. |
Hi @RobenusW Can you elaborate a bit on which programs you are unable to download that you need for this? I don't have specific experience with getting things set up on a Chromebook but we should be able to get you up and running. Please move this issue to the In-Progress column on the Project Board. |
Hi, I am trying to use my father's computer, so i might be able to just download git a docker. I'll see if I am able to complete it and if this arrangement is sustainable. Thank you for your help, and I ll let you know if I encounter any problems. |
@RobenusW Great! from a quick search it looks like you should be able to get both of those on a chromebook. https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/how-to-install-git-on-chrome-os/ |
@RobenusW I am moving this back into New Issue Approval because there is no milestone on it. A PM will put a milestone on it and move it back into In Progress for you. Sorry for the confusion. |

Please add update using the below template (even if you have a pull request). Afterwards, remove the 'To Update !' label and add the 'Status: Updated' label.
If you need help, be sure to either: 1) place your issue in the developer meeting discussion column and ask for help at your next meeting, 2) put a "Status: Help Wanted" label on your issue and pull request, or 3) put up a request for assistance on the #hfla-site channel.
