the open api generator creates paths with different identifier names for for the same resource when there is also a sub-resource path. See screenshot of swaggerhub rendered /applicants API

Whilst this is valid per OpenAPI specification, it will not deploy to AWS API gateway. resource identifiers need to be consistent throughout the openAPI specification for the same resource.
