Add label for amenity=ferry_terminal #869
Comments
route=ferry seems to be obvious, I am less sure about rendering name of amenity=ferry_terminal as this object itself is not rendered. In this example result would be clear but in more complex situations it may be problematic. |
I see amenity=ferry_terminal as a simple analogy to highway=bus_stop, and that one is shown every time. What kind of problematic situations do you mean? |
highway=bus_stop is rendered, so name would clearly belong to it. In area with many objects label without object may be confusing. |
Oh, you mean just the name with no icon? I think about name+icon - MapQuest has a nice icon for this, if you check the example, but at least something like little blue square (exactly what the highway=bus_stop has) would be OK to show the point. Then the terminal name would be pretty obvious - maybe this name can be rendered in blue too (to show that while it is on the land, it has something to do with the water), if needed. |
The first part of your request is duplicate with #475. I have therefore changed the initial post to only refer to amenity=ferry_terminal. |

Name of
the route=ferryand amenity=ferry_terminal should be visible. Currently only MapQuest does this on the main OSM page. Example:https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/37930736
