Latest grpc-go requires Go 1.19, but our current earliest supported version is Go 1.17. We will work to increase the floor to Go 1.19, but in the meantime, we must freeze the grpc-go dependency. we can unfreeze it once we've increased our floor Go version to 1.19. Assigning to Cody for the time being as he's working on doing that.
