Supersedes #9882.

Changes some instances of adjective phrases to be more grammatically correct and more consistent with the rest of the docs.

The changes in #9882 fell into three categories:

"Open source" and "command line", which are currently not planned to be changed
"Low level" which I will make a separate PR for (Use "low-level" and "high-level" instead of "low level" and "high level" #10285)
Various one-off changes which are included in this PR. I tried to find most of them but I might have missed one or two.
