The /= creates incorrect ligature for Fortran (should be either left alone or be ≠)

Here is a code:

if (abs(x(1) - 4.5_RP) > 1.0e-12_RP .or. abs(x(2) - 4.0_RP) > 1.0e-12_RP &
      & .or. abs(f - 0.25_RP) > 1.0e-12_RP)  error stop
! below the /= should actually be !=
if (nf /= 24) error stop

and here is a screenshot how it looks like:

The /= should either be left alone, or produce the ligature that != produces (≠). As you can see, instead it produces a combined /= which looks confusing, as this is not "division equal", but rather "not equal" in Fortran.

This is up to your font, not us. You can always disable ligatures with the font-feature config.

The solution is to disable programming ligatures by putting the following into the config:

font-feature = -calt

Then it fixes the problem, here is how it looks like now:

The fundamental issue here is that the programming ligatures depend on the language used, so an editor like vim would know the language, but the terminal currently doesn't, so disabling it globally is one way to fix it.
