Messaging and Eventing Patterns in JavaScript

devLINK 2012 Session by Jim Cowart

This talk discusses event delegation, message passing & the difference between both. Eventing is dealt with briefly, with most of the focus on several messaging patterns that translate well to JavaScript environments (both browser and node, etc.).

Important Attribution Note:

The pattern diagrams, names and descriptions that appear in the messaging section of this slide deck have been graciously made available/possible by Gregor Hohpe and Bobby Woolf - authors of "Enterprise Integration Patterns" (patters are available under the Creative Commons Attribution license). Usage of Hohpe and Woolf's material does not, obviously, mean that they endorse my ideas (nor have they even seen this slide deck). Translation: I am simply standing on the shoulders of giants - the real trail-blazers have richly rewarded those willing to learn from them.
