Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Our listing policies aim to provide transparent criteria on how to suggest products/resources/services to be added ethereum.org & to give insight on how we evaluate proposals. While we already do have a listing policy for "Ethereum products", we've learned that dedicated listing policies can add greater clarity on the information we require (e.g. like we have for adding exchanges).

Describe the solution you'd like

Create a dedicated listing policy for online communities, which we display here:
https://ethereum.org/en/community/online/

This policy should outline the criteria we use to evaluate communities & decide if we will list them. Potential criteria might be:

  • Is it related to Ethereum, the underlying technologies Ethereum uses, or to crypto broadly?
  • Is the community open to all? Is it free or paid?
  • Is the community legitimate*? Is there risk of new members being scammed or mislead?
  • Is the community active? Does the community have consistent moderation?

* Would be worth thinking about how we can define "legitimacy" objectively

gm @wackerow and @minimalsm! Can you please review this draft on online communities' listing policy below?

Eligibility Criteria

To be listed on ethereum.org's 'Online Communities' page, communities must meet the following criteria:

  • Relevance: The community must be directly related to Ethereum and its ecosystem
  • Activity Level: The community should be active, with regular interactions, posts, or discussions. Dormant or inactive communities may be removed.
  • Inclusivity: The community should foster a welcoming environment that respects diversity and encourages participation from people of all backgrounds.
  • Non-commercial Focus: Listings are intended for community-driven spaces rather than commercial or promotional platforms.

Content Guidelines

  • Appropriate Content: Communities must have their own moderation guidelines, avoiding spam, hate speech, harassment, or any content that promotes illegal activities.
  • Language: While English is the primary language, communities in other languages are encouraged to submit as long as they maintain an inclusive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Transparency: Clear information about the community’s purpose, rules, and moderators should be available to members.
