Overall looks good! There are some failed tests and merge conflicts so I will review once again later then, okay?

Can we add us as codeowners for x-pack/test_serverless/functional/test_suites/observability/discover
?

Sure we can, at least on my end, Logs UX can confirm during their review. Updated here: 25bca72.

Sounds right, thanks for the addition Davis!

Tip
Non-blocking suggestion, as this would work perfectly 👌
This condition should probably reflect how we resolve the O11y root profile, which means this needs to change and be aligned every time we update the logic for the O11y root profile resolution.
I don't expect that to change often, but we might miss some corner cases if we forget to update the logic also here and anywhere else this is implemented in this PR.
Have you considered to use the root profile resolve declaration to keep the resolution logic centralized and inherit it here?
resolve: async (params) => {
const observabilityRootProfile = await createObservabilityRootProfileProvider(services).resolve(
{ solutionNavId: params.rootContext.solutionType }
);
if (!observabilityRootProfile.isMatch) {
return { isMatch: false };
}
// ...
},

As we discussed offline, while we can't re-execute the root profile resolution logic (since it's async while document profile resolution is sync), I've updated the rootContext
checks to look at profileId
instead of solutionType
, which has the same effect of protecting against future changes: a41d43e.

Changes LGTM, I just left a suggestion around the nested resolution of the data source and document profile, but it's not blocking although it might benefit the resolution step maintainability 👌

Like the way you restructured the files and directories!

We could also copy and adjust telemetry / context tests from test/functional/apps/discover/context_awareness/_telemetry.ts
to check what profile names are active and sent to EBT.

It also restructures some folders to conform to the solution folder conventions in our docs. Lastly it restructures the functional tests so that the logs profiles tests only run for Observability serverless projects, and the core context awareness suite only tests example implementations. ### Checklist - [ ] Any text added follows [EUI's writing guidelines](https://elastic.github.io/eui/#/guidelines/writing), uses sentence case text and includes [i18n support](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/blob/main/packages/kbn-i18n/README.md) - [ ] [Documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/development-documentation.html) was added for features that require explanation or tutorials - [x] [Unit or functional tests](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/development-tests.html) were updated or added to match the most common scenarios - [ ] [Flaky Test Runner](https://ci-stats.kibana.dev/trigger_flaky_test_runner/1) was used on any tests changed - [ ] Any UI touched in this PR is usable by keyboard only (learn more about [keyboard accessibility](https://webaim.org/techniques/keyboard/)) - [ ] Any UI touched in this PR does not create any new axe failures (run axe in browser: [FF](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/axe-devtools/), [Chrome](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/axe-web-accessibility-tes/lhdoppojpmngadmnindnejefpokejbdd?hl=en-US)) - [ ] If a plugin configuration key changed, check if it needs to be allowlisted in the cloud and added to the [docker list](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/blob/main/src/dev/build/tasks/os_packages/docker_generator/resources/base/bin/kibana-docker) - [ ] This renders correctly on smaller devices using a responsive layout. …ofiles (elastic#201310) ## Summary As suggested in elastic#199255 (comment), I've copied and modified the existing Discover context awareness telemetry tests to work for Observability profiles. This helps test that solution root profiles are picked up as expected, as well as giving us some serverless coverage. @elastic/appex-qa It didn't seem like there were any config specific services for serverless tests yet, so I added the EBT to services to the main serverless config. If there's a better way to do this, please let me know and I can update it. ### Checklist - [ ] Any text added follows [EUI's writing guidelines](https://elastic.github.io/eui/#/guidelines/writing), uses sentence case text and includes [i18n support](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/blob/main/packages/kbn-i18n/README.md) - [ ] [Documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/development-documentation.html) was added for features that require explanation or tutorials - [x] [Unit or functional tests](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/development-tests.html) were updated or added to match the most common scenarios - [ ] If a plugin configuration key changed, check if it needs to be allowlisted in the cloud and added to the [docker list](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/blob/main/src/dev/build/tasks/os_packages/docker_generator/resources/base/bin/kibana-docker) - [ ] This was checked for breaking HTTP API changes, and any breaking changes have been approved by the breaking-change committee. The `release_note:breaking` label should be applied in these situations. - [ ] [Flaky Test Runner](https://ci-stats.kibana.dev/trigger_flaky_test_runner/1) was used on any tests changed - [ ] The PR description includes the appropriate Release Notes section, and the correct `release_note:*` label is applied per the [guidelines](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/contributing.html#kibana-release-notes-process)
Summary
This PR updates the current logs data source profiles and log document profile to only be active in the Observability solution view. It also restructures some folders to conform to the solution folder conventions in our docs. Lastly it restructures the functional tests so that the logs profiles tests only run for Observability serverless projects, and the core context awareness suite only tests example implementations.
