Trend lines on charts #3325
Comments
A little more clarity on what we're looking for.

@Dygerati Do you mean a baseline? If so +1 Zak /* sent while mobile */ From: Joel Thiessenmailto:[email protected] A little more clarity on what we're looking for. This is one example of a trend line that gives the current reporting period context of whether it's normal or extraordinary. We should be able to configure what the line represents, e.g. could be Same Day Rolling 4 Week Average or maybe an 8 week average...or could be an actual trend line that has some "predictive" abilities. Here's another example that shows a couple trend lines, one for yesterday and one for same day last week, along with the current day. — |
👍 for adding a baseline (according to any calculation, not just 95th percentile) |
+1, |
Also requested by @icedfish when I met him in-person recently. |

Baselines would be great! |
Any chart should have a baseline. |

Baselines are a great way for doing analytics. Considering that Kibana is now also going to include an app for SIEM, i believe something similar to a baseline could already be implemented in it. |
I'm interested in the trend line |
Closing this as the feature requests listed out here are either supported in Lens already, will be soon or has a separate more focused issue:

I couldn't find an existing issue, although I just heard at Elasticon the other day that this was on the roadmap.
