Properly name and document (Maven/System) configuration properties

Description

Property names are inconsistent throughout the entire project, inconsistent prefix names, non-required prefix, etc.
(e.g. 1, 2, 3).

Documentation of configuration properties is also inconsistent. The tables summarizing the available options should provide the name of the configuration, along with the description and the equivalent property too (Some tables are in this format, but many aren't).
