Thanks but there is a lot of work needed before anything can be deleted. Testing VS, considering when it is still used, where it will be serviced from, how it will be acquired when needed, any error paths, breaking change evaluations etc. This is not ready for a PR. |

Closing since this needs a fair amount of evaluation, and probably to happen at a major-version boundary. |
