<p>Dan is a Professor of Oceanography at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova
Scotia, Canada.  He teaches there, and is also the Graduate Coordinator.  His
research focus is on ocean mixing caused by internal waves and double-diffusive
convection.</p>
