See this thread. A user wasn't able to use calendar sync because we don't create a default calendar. So he suggest we should create a default calendar on first use, or open a wizard when there are no calendar.

I'm not a big fan of this solution, because when we export the calendar, we get this placeholder event, and wonder where it come from. If there is no way to create an empty calendar, could you at least give the placeholder event an explicit description ? Thanks

Well, I understand now that this is the way calendar works, so let's say it's ok for now. #316 and #317 will improve this. Thanks @jsilvestre ☺
